Hyena

i have seen that black one at Sierra College a bunch of times.

found this bad boy on pirate today.

gotrocks

I've seen that one online before but i'm not a big fan on that one.  The body lines don't flow that well IMO

crawlerdan

hyena-that thing is badass!!!! but its too short imo.  its built on a single cab short box frame, i would build on a xtracab long bed frame so the i didnt have to cut into the cab for wheel wells.

i would use a tacoma double cab bed and shove it all the way foreward and locate the wheels as needed :yesnod:

Cheesemaker

I just remembered that I saw one up at Coyote Lake with Dean!  It had the full custom cab but it had a flatbed with a small cage on it!  I wanted to get a pic of it, but I couldn't get my camera in time!

i have seen many toyotas like that, i wouldnt say it came stock from toyota like that, but many did come that way stock from a dealer.... several companies back in the day did van conversions like the way they did the dolphins and chinook conversions

the trucks were called "custom cabs" and they were shipped from japan as standard cabs to the dealerships and then if a customer wanted this to be done ( it was a $5,000.00 option) it was sent down to oregon to to i believe manufacturing fabrication incorporated. the frame is legnthened about 2 feet, a fiberglass shell is made and installed, and the cab floor is wood for the new add-on. with a multitude of window options as well as cab heights. i know this because i used to have one and learned all i could about it. heres mine

kneedownnate

The vast majority of them I've seen around here are driven by the asians.  Not talking smack, just something I've noticed.  I saw a dark blue first gen by my house a few times, then saw it at pnp a while back.  I left my # on the guys seat saying I wanted to buy it, and he called me while I was inside.  He didn't wanna sell it, but said he gets offers all the time.

its wierd because I think you and I have very similar tastes.  I am always thought about building one of those and just haven't found one.  If I remember right Marlins shop was building one with a linked rear suspension and coilovers.  It looked so awesome.  I'm always keeping my eye out for one.

Here's the one built by Marlin's shop...pretty cool
