looking for a country song
« on: Nov 02, 2006, 10:42:51 PM »
i heard this on the radio the other day and it rocked, haven't heard it since :(

it goes something like this dad is driving the car, and something happens and he hits the brakes, well his 4 year old son in the carseat says "oh shirt" or something to that effect. the dad is pissed and he was like where did you learn that?! and then it goes into, the kid saying, i learned that from you, daddy, i want to grow up to be just like you

then the dad was like aw crap, I'm a moron

it then goes into the dad went to the barn, and started praying and said god, please help me to do whats right for my kid

well then the dad goes to tuck the kid in for bed and hes praying... the dad said where did you learn that from, and he said i saw you in the barn earlier, i want  to be just like you.....

Rodney Adkins  "watching you"

Drivin' through town just my boy and me
With a happy meal in his booster seat
Knowin' that he couldn't have the toy
Till his nuggets were gone

A green traffic light turned straight to red
I hit my breaks
And mumbled under my breath
His fries went fryin' [corrected]
And his orange drink covered his lap

Well then my four year old said a four letter word
It started with S
And I was concerned
So I said son
Where'd you learn to talk like that

He said I'd been watchin' you
Dad ain't that cool
I'm your buckaroo
I wanna be like you
And eat all my food
And grow as tall as you are
We got cowboy boots
And camo pants
We're just alike
Now ain't we dad
I wanna do everything you do
So I been watchin' you

We got back home and I went to the barn
I bowed my head and I prayed real hard
Said lord please help me help my stupid self

Then this side of bedtime later that night
Turnin' on my son's scooby doo night light
He crawled out of bed and he got down on his knees
He closed his little eyes
Folded his little hands
Spoke to God like he was talkin' to a friend
And I said son,
Now where'd you learn to pray like that

He said I'd been watchin' you
Dad ain't that cool
I'm your buckaroo
I wanna be like you
And eat all my food
And grow as tall as you are
We like fixin' things
And holdin' mama's hand
We're just alike
Now ain't we dad
I wanna do everything you do
So I been watchin' you

With tears in my eyes
I wrapped him in a hug
Said my little bear is growin' up
And he said but when I'm big
I'll still know what to do

Cause I been watchin you
Dad ain't that cool
I'm your buckaroo
I wanna be like you
And eat all my food
And grow as tall as you are
We got cowboy boots
And camel pants
We're just alike
Now ain't we dad
I wanna do everything you do
So I been watchin' you

Then I'll be strong as superman
We'll be just alike
Hey won't we dad
When I can do everything you do
Cause I been watchin' you

Hey yeah
Uh huh

Rob Arnie and Dawn until 10am, then I switch between 4 country stations, depending on where I am
