2WD Transmission swap question

First, I know this is a dominantly 4WD Forum, but you guys are a wealth of knowledge so I figured I would ask.

I am looking to swap out my W55 tranny for a W58 from an old Supra. If anyone has any input or advice on this I would really appreciate it.

its all good, you will need the bellhousing off the w55 as the supra has the starter on the drivers side. you will need to make a new hole in your floor as the shifter will be a few inches further back..... might want to toss a short throw shifter on it as well

if you need a little more info than that, contact uncle jesse from this site or noodles on pirate, they both knew about that swap when i was researching it for my 2wd

i have a good condition w55 for sale if you want it

my 80  had a W50

I believe the 81 I pulled the tranny outa for my 81 truck was a w50 also, but I've seen 82s or 83s with the w58.  Basically seems like it got bumped up when the body style changed.

just for my knowledge, whats the w50 you guys are talkign about? was that in a truck or something else?

my 85 2wd truck had a w55 in it, identified that way by marlin himself.....
