Hey Mike take a look at Linux...I run SuSe Linux 10.0 and it has the spreadsheets, pdf reads, Wordprocessers etc built right in..  I maybe should tell you,  I can send you a copy for free.. Not a trial version or something, but the full and complete version, as linux operating systems are FREE. The only thing you pay for when you buy it is professionally made  disks, manual, and 90 days 24/7 world wide tech support.  If you just want a copy I can give that to you free. If you want to go out and buy it then the Distrubion (as they are called ) will run you about $100 or less.  Take my advice on this one.. Get a free copy of the distrubion, and spend the money on a book call " Beginning suse linux, from novice to professional "  by Keir Thomas..  I can give you the ISN number so you can find the the book too.   If you think you like your board now wait till you see it from my view point.. :disturbed:

uh! he can just download it http://en.opensuse.org/Released_Version
or Fedora, Mandrake, Gentoo, Slackware, Ubuntu, ... I'm a fan of Gentoo but it isn't for everybody.

But I would recomend getting one of the live cd first, Slax and Knoppix are two of them

First if he downloads it he will have to burn it to cd's ( about 5 or 6 ) or a Double desity DVD.. That's not a big deal I think if he's got the time and the gear it could be a very good way to do it..

The live cd versions may not give him a good look at what linux can do.. They have to leave things out to make it fit remember. But if he remembers that there are alot of programs to replace the Whinedows  programs on a full "Dis" then that could be a useful too.  Beside he's going to want a good book too.

It's a web browser produced by Mozilla.  Some people prefer it over IE, and some the other way.  I  my firefox :yesnod:
Thanks  :beerchug:

If anyone noticed, I slowed down the turtle a bit. It now delays 5 seconds before moving.

Ok, I picked up a virus this weekend and had to take my computer to a friend.  He cleaned it out and downloaded some cool programs for me, including limewire  , but he also got me IE7.  It has a couple of issues, but it seriously looks like they copied firefox.
