This is my current project but still unfinished due to a new addition to the fam. I've been working on this for about 4 years and it still doesn't run(drive)  :hammerhead:.  My next objective with it is to take the cab off and install an extended cab on that chasis and then bob the front of the bed

instead of bobbing the bed, you could use a tacoma double cab bed, the lines might not match up right though.....

It wasn't that hard to bob the rear so I'll probably just bob the front Plus I work in a auto body shop so I can cut and weld it and then mud and paint or bedliner the whole thing. I have a  4 dead extended cabs in the back yard so I have the cab I just need my own shop.

looks like a truck built in oregon really tall lots of power and a short wheel base. in every one else's mind a bad combo, in oregon "1" bad arse wheeler

truck looks cool.  the engine should be sick.  but if you put a third gen extra cab on it the back part of the cab might hit the rear tire when it is flexed.  just keep that in mind if you didn't already know.  :)

the rear tires will contact the cab at full stuff, I know from experience and that was with 36" TSL's.  Other than that I loved my extended cab swb setup.  I am not quite sure how you would keep the bed with that problem.

Now looking at that gives me an idea  of what it will look like. I've searched the web for a long time for this gen toy with a swap like this and all I could find was first gens. I was wondering about tire to cab clearence so if need be I'll cut and fab :flamer: in a custom corner and then blend it. I was originally building this truck for the local mud drags and even had dana 60's for it.  Now my plans are to make it streetable and give it a nice midnight black paint and have lightning bolts painted on it and yes I'll still offroad it  :yikes:. OOO and here is another pic with my 9 year old son by the truck

The truck at this time is sitting on new front 6 inch 85 skyjacker springs with an All Pro front conversion with another 1.5 in the hangers. The rear is on 7 inch 85 skyjacker springs for just the height. The tallest rear springs I think you can get for the 89-95 truck is 4 inch so that is why I got the 85 springs. If you look at the rear suspension pic you can see the u-bolts are not on correctly yet (they look like this

Since I got the 85 rear springs I was able to move the rear shackle forward 4 inches and bob the frame to just behind the shackle. It also has a 3 inch body to help with clearance issues. So all together it has about 10.5 inches of lift in the front and rear. The truck will clear 44's but they rub the front springs when turning so right now it has 39.5's but I sold them with my other big truck. The other thing I'm going to do is install the grille and headlights out of a 92-95 4runner with the composites.
