22r block work with 22re head?

like the title says, will a 22r block work with a 22re head?  thanks for any input.

There is a short block and a tall block, normally associated with 22RE and 22R respectively.
You can't swap without more work than you want to do...

Note, I was involved in a "cheap stroker" discussion on pirate where there is an approx formula for using a mix and match:
Tall block (early)
welded and offset ground crank (+5mm)
22RTE pistons, cut approximately 2mm.
22RE head.
You'd get a block that's stroked, in reasonable range of compression for a turbo, and bolts up to stock EFI.

I should note if your goal is EFI on a 22R, you can find a late model 22R head that's got bosses drilled for the plenum.  Earlier models have bosses that are not drilled, earliest models don't have the bosses can won't work with a 22RE plenum.

i was actually just lookin to replace the block in my efi runner with a carbed block, but i guess it wont work.  thanks for the info.

use a 85 and up block . both my yotas were carb moters and i added efi to them .

It depends on what year carbed truck.  Toyota's were available with a carb until 88 or so, and all blocks 85 and newer are short.
