Flasher location 79 pickup
« on: Sep 04, 2006, 06:52:12 PM »
I need some help here. I need to know exactly where the flasher and hazard relays are located for a 79 toyota longbed. It has the tach and extra gauges if that matters. I have looked but can't seem to find the right thing. What I have found is a relay that says buzzer on the left side of steering column under dash. Fuel pump relay on right side of column under dash. Two square relays above gas pedal, these are 3 prong but have a real close pattern and do not match ep35 which is what comes up for a flasher. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Will

:welcome: I have an 81 long bed and have two fuse panels one on drivers side kick panel and one on passenger side kick panel (Not sure if this one is factory or not looks like it is).  Maybe you could look on the passenger side.

Ok I checked out the pass side. It has a wiper control box and another larger box but I dont know what it is??? I did find something that could be the flasher or hazard relays way up under the dash next to the side heat/ac outlets. There is one on each side but the passenger side is 3 prong in a real tight pattern and the driver side is 4 prong. Neither one are like a normal flasher?? I need to go buy a Factory service manual as haynes is pretty vague.

OK just to inform anybody who has a flasher go out the pin pattern is different on the factory flasher than any other flasher. So I ordered one through toyota for 45 bucks... and I get the regular style flasher and a short wiring harness converting it over. I think the regular flasher number is ep35 and then two of the pins are used and the third is ground.
