I've always wanted to go to Moab.  I dont know anything about the place and would like to go with a group thats been there before.  I've heard of the Easter Jeep Safari but I'd like to go with some people that really want to wheel.   I recently heard of the Toyotafari(sp?)  Does anyone have any info on this event or other runs  that me and a couple of my buddies can get in on?  We're in So Cal so I'd  like to go for 4 days to 1 week,  sometime when it's realitively warm Since I have a buggy :driving:

I like I'm going out for Cruise Moab. I thinks thats the TLCA event. I'm going to meet up with some friends and most of the colorado boys out there. I've never been to moab but it should be fun..

Is that event open entry or club only? I've got a toy based buggy.  When is it?

yeah Dave I talked to Jeff of the T.L.C.A. club.  He said one of the requirements is that you have to be street legal. :rivers:

If you have time could you ask Chriss how he went last year. I think he took the buggy, and every event I have found so far requires Registered vehiculed with brake lights and such.
If anyone has any knowledge as to how to get around this little detail it would be greatly appreciatted

I'll ask Chris but you'll probably see him today before I do.  That just probaly means tou can't go on the registered runs.

It is registered as off road, but the cruise moab people (Jeff ) told me that it has to be street registered.
I'm trying to find a group that is a little more easy going. :help:

I am President of the Offroad Club at my School (New Mexico Tech) and i wanted to plan a trip to Moab.  Possibly in April...but we have our annual MudBog April 17th, so I'm not sure..  The Yotafari is put on by Wild Yoats 4x4 Association: http://www.wildyoats.com/   .  By the looks of their events page, they haven't planned  one for 2004 yet, and it is only going o be open to probabaly members..(become a member for a few dolalrs).
Lowriders are for guys who can't get it up!!!

Thanks I'll give that  a try

I'll be at Cruise Moab.

The reason for the street leagle thing I think is this. The trail runs meet in the town somewhere. At least all that I was on last time.  Then they go hit the trail and end up at another street on the way out. So the whole group will be running street in and out of the trail. Witht e exception of a few tha you could trailer to. and come out in the same area. Hells revenge is close, and cliff hanger is an in and out trail. But ther is minimal parking at the trailhead, so no place to leave a trailer if everone did it.

GSMTR you can camp at the trail head, and you don't hit street, untill you go to main camp for the raffle and inspection. So trailered rigsare common there. But It's in Tellico. That's the Tennesee, N Carolina border just past Sweetwater Tenn, and before Murphy N Carolina if your looking for it. I think the town is called Green Cove Tenn. GSMTR in May. hosted by the Southeaster Toyota LandCruiser Associaton.(STLCA) a chapter of TLCA.

toyrocs has been to cruise moab 3 times & going this april.one way to run tube rig is to make it street lic (ie plates) but not nessisarlly street legal. you will need brake/turn lights/ operational park brake ( no line locks) first aid kit/fire ext. last year there were at a few ( tube ) rigs that passed the tech inspection & ran all the trails. the local police/ state troopers generally look the other way ( local tax/revenue base/ tourist dollars) if the driver of  tube rig is not speeding/ drinking etc on local paved streets. hope this helps a little. moab or bust TOYROCS
