I am swap a engine in my 89 4runner.  I wanted to do this after I bought a fiberglass replacment body so the engine wouldn't have to be pulled.  But then I came to thinking is the engine bay part of the body of a 4runner or truck because it doesn't seem like a good Idea to have an engine siting againts a fiberglass wall however I don't know the heat tolerences so please post any thoughts

:psss:Well I can tell ya that the body / fire wall / inside fender wells / radiator support / and cab i.e. truck / body i.e. 4 runner are all one peice.  :headscratch: as for fiber glass  :dunno: only seen front and rear fenders as an option - I'd call the fiber glass body MFG and see what their response is ???

I wish I could just beat my body up but I think the 1st gen runner is the coolest looking truck ever made.  I want to buy fiberglass body to deal with rust problems.

My 4runner was made in 1989.  The v6 3.0 liter was availble in 88 and 89 1st generation 4runners.  2nd gens probly were introduced late that year.  1st gen is 84-89

Anyway   1st geration 4runners rule, I wouldn't trade it for a H1 if I could have a mint 4runner, I say H1 because H2's suck there GM trucks.  Yotas could kill a H2.

 :joke:Ya, it's funny to watch H1's or H2's in the woods around here - way more H1's though - They say their going four wheelen and the only thing they'll do is run em on gravel - dirt roads with laptop GPS's  :screwy: :nerv: thay won't follow us  :eyebrow: because their so HUGE they won't make it without bending sheet metal...
I wasn't sure about the 89 4 runner body style, don't see many I guess or I thought they were 88's  :dunno: I've got three at my house now an 85, 86-daily and a 87 donnor :disturbed:

theres nothing better than having 3 4runners at your desposal, except having 4, or 5, or maybe even more!
