2WD and 4WD does it matter?

If I buy an engine and tranny from 2wd truck can it be used in 4wd truck.  Isn't the transfer case the only thing that would e different on the two trucks.

The tranny is also different, as well as the oil pan and pickup.  change those ane itll wlip right in.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Dont forget about the lower u shaped metal water tube that goes around the alternator.
