E-LOCKER CABLE CONVERSION QUESTION
« on: Aug 01, 2006, 05:40:25 PM »
I have a 1985 Toyota 4runner I'm in the process of installing a E- Locker and the cable conversion from DOWNEY. My  problem is I want to put it in the front end and I'm running into clearance issues with the front spring pad on the axle and the front spring itself.HELP has anyone else ever run into this I'm thinking of modifying the block for the cable conversion that bolts to the side of the diff.If some one could show me some pics and give me some pointers.ANY HELP IS APRECIATED.

That's the prob with the Downey kit. It does not work in the front end.
I'm not familier with how the kit works so I can't give you any tips on modifying it, but I did build my own cable locker for the front that may help with some ideas for modifying the downey kit to work.
I removed the motor and ran my cable from the top where the motor used to be and conected it to the arm that the coiled up spring used to be attached to.
Kind of confusing, but there's some pics on here somewhere.
Let me know if you're interested and i'll repost them.
