Quick crankcase breather question
« on: Aug 01, 2006, 02:44:47 PM »
Hey guys,
I'm looking to get a crankcase breather for my head (1980 20R). I measured the hole that it would go into (front of the head) with some calipers and it looks like its just a touch under 2/5" of an inch. Looking at summitracing.com it seems like my choice is either 1/2" or 3/8"... which one would be best. What size do you guys have on your heads. Thanks.

It is most likely a 10mm hole or tube.. Are you refering to the PVC Bypass line on the valve cover?

Those breathers are for the valve cover using the PVC port, and they can be had at any local parts stores

it says they come with an adapter.... i used to have one of the kragens house brand ones, and it didnt fit right, there is a taper on the spout for it on my 22r... after awhile, the hoseclamp because of that taper chewed the rubber all up

Yeah I'm going to run the normal pcv valve, but for the front of the valve cover right next to the oil filler cap I'd like one of the K&N breathers. I guess I'll just order one through LCE since the ones they carry should fit right. Thanks for the help guys.

Just be ready to clean oil film from your valve cover every other day
