20R/L43 and 22R/L50 clutches
« on: Jul 25, 2006, 05:13:11 PM »
I have a 20R that put a marlin L52HD behind.

Is there a difference between the clutch in a 20R vs a 22R clutch?

Should I had used a clutch for a 22R behind my 20R engine with the L52HD tranny?

I know the release bearings are different.  I changed that.

the clutch should be the same, they are both 8 7/8"

looking on the marlin site for clutches, they have the same listings for the hd clutch being 2.2 or 2.4l n/a efi or carb..... however with the ceramic, they have a split listing, but hte size is still the same

The reason I ask is that I put all this crap together and it drove fine.  But now it is shaking when I take off like it is slipping.  I also have the dual cases, both with stock ratios.  I am running 35" tires with the stock 4.37 gears.  Could this be the problem?

I plan on replacing it with the marlin ceramic clutch so I wanna make sure which one to get with my engine/tranny combo.

should be the same from 79 to 92.5 with 20r 22r 22re, the turbio and 92.5-94 had a bigger clutch which if u get the right flywheel u can use the bigger clutch in your application
