I'm looking for a heavy weight flywheel for my 22re. Is it worth it, and what can I use. Last where are some sources.

I'd stay away from the heavy flywheel, the idea behind the the heavy fw is to keep the engine spinning at low rpm sort of like artificial torque. That same weight is hard to get spinning so acceleration suffers from it. If you're still interested in it try Northwestern in Wa.

i wouldnt bother with it myself, but you can get a 30 or 35 lb flywheel from LCengineering.com for $275-$300
i see your from MN    i'm thinking more mud than rocks,   go for the heavy duty clutch, LC's 1400, or marlins 1200lb clutches

I hate mud, fyi we're getting more and more trails with rocks. So far we have a brand new OHV park, with a second on it's way. Both will are located on the Iron Range. I beleve it's a lot of granite. Here are some pics from a local Jeep club. http://www.tristanroux.com/temp/gilbert-08-30-03/ My truck is built for rocks, hills, and trails. Not mud "22re" not enough power to play in the mud, besides I hate mud.

We also go to South Dakota once a year for the BHCC. I plan on doing a lot more events in the next few years. The kids are old enough to handel more road trips. :crossed:

with a 22re you'll have to "gear down" anyway. so I would not spend the $ on a heavy wheel, save it for something elas

Right now I'm running a Marlin 4.7 single case, with 4.88's in the diff's, with 35" BFG MT's. I want to go daul case so I'll save my $, and skip the fly wheel. Thanks.
