A few simple questions
« on: Jun 10, 2006, 09:17:53 AM »
Hello everyone. New to the board but not new to Toyotas, some of my previous projects have been a 3.4 powered '92 and a '94 2wd body swap onto a '86 4wd turbo chassis.

New project is an '84 I picked up with about a foot of frame rail missing (rust). I'm sticking the parts on a '94 2wd frame I'm modding with the usual suspension stuff, rears up front, long flexy springs out back. Got my IFS steering box and pump, intake manifold and the rest for the efi conversion, one welded carrier with 5.29's and some other junk. I'll get some pics as it comes together

So on with the questions...

T100 or Tundra springs: Anyone ever used these? The T100 is ~55 inches, the Tundra is ~60.5. Seems like they're long enough to give good flex and keep your rig all Toyota

Tire to frame clearance: How much is enough with a flexy suspension and a 34-35" tire?

Thanks for the help!

I have the IFS hubs and calipers. I just need some measurements of frame clearance vs. tire diameter with a flexy suspension so I can come up with a axle/tire/backspacing combo both my truck and trailer can live with
