Jet Chip........
« on: Dec 18, 2003, 10:37:46 PM »
Just curious if anyone has had a Taco computer upgraded with a JET chip, is it worth the money and does it make a big difference?

Unlike American trucks, the prom or chip can not be changed.
It is incorperated into the complete ECM.

Something you have to look out for when putting those chips in is that some burn a signature on your ECM, so it comes up on a scan.  Bad Idea on a new car under warranty and something goes wrong.  And some ECM's will erase some chips after some many start ups

Has anyone here tried a jet chip on a chevy 350? If yes, what were the results? I have an 87 chev 4x4 w/350 that could use some additional power. Thanks

Not to try to call you a liar Marlin because you are the shiznit, but I am looking and a Performance Products Toyota catalog that sells the JET chip and even explains how you pull your computer and ship it to them and they change it then overnight it back to you.   This is the mod I am referring to.

Just how could Marlin be anywhere close to a liar on that one???  He pointed out that the computer doesnt have a chip, then you come back with "how you pull your computer and ship it to them and they overnight it back to you" What Marlin was saying is Toyota computers dont have chips they have to be modified directly.  Sounds to me like you both said the EXACT same thing!!   :slap:

That's all fine and dandy but in this magazine it is called a "CHIP" replacment so that is why I asked.  I could never call Marlin a Liar,  that is sacreligious or something lol.    I have no answers only questions.
