Well figured I should start a build thread so I could keep track of what I have done and what every one on MC thinks I should do in the future.  I got my 89 last November for 3500 and it was bone stock.  the first mode I did was take the  :stopit: wheels and tires off and put on a set of 31 BFG Mt's on some alloy wheels.  that cost me 300.  (found the tires for a great deal).
Then I found a a guy that had a 93 4Runner with 4.88's from the factory, and he was converting the runner to 2 wheel drive so  I got the diffs from him for 200 and sold mine for 150 to a friend.
yotaboy79 made me some shackles for the rear and I put some Rancho torsion bars on.  (got the torsion bars for 50)  Convinced yotaboy79 to teach me how to weld and made a front bumper for 60 (yotaboy79 did most the work)  then after my first wheelin trip and sliding into a tree I decide it was time to make some rock sliders.  Made those for a 60.
I had been helping a Friend build his 85 4runner and for all the work that I helped him do he bought me an Aussie Locker for the rear of my truck.
Then 3 weeks ago I stopped by a friends shop to say hi and noticed a toyota out front and told him I liked it.  He told me it was for sale that gave me the guys phone #.  I called him and got all the specs on the truck but he was not sure how much he wanted for it and said he would call me back.  The truck was an 86 Turbo EFI with a 5spd (R151F).  3 days later he called me back and said he wanted 600 for the truck because of the blown head gasket, so I went and picked it up.  I pulled the tranny out of the 86 and put it in my 89 then put my tranny in the bed of the 86 and sold the truck for 1000.
I now run a set of 32X11.50 Super Swamper TSL SX's when wheelin and a set of 33 BFG at's on the road.  Those are all the mods that I have done thus far; but in the future I'd like to do an SAS.  the total I have spent on this is about 3800 including the price I paid for the truck.
What do you guys think of my build so far?
