Maxxis Creepy Crawlers Anyone???
« on: May 15, 2006, 06:29:03 PM »
My sas for 37's is a little ways off but I thought I would do some tire research while I'm waiting for the money tree to grow. Anyone run Maxxis creepy crawlers or know anything about them?? I did some searching on here. seems like no one runs them. Just wondering why. Maybe cuz they're expensive as all get out :dunno:  thanks in advance,

I know you better buy now cause the law of supply and demand is causing the price to go up up up!

Do they sell in Canada?  you could have one of our Canadian brethren ship them down to you

Those puppies would have to be shipped from down under...
I could have sworn that there was an importer in the US...can't remember what the markup was after shipping though.

:werd: you aren't kidding about that. Here's what I got out of it....
Please Note the following:

-Any shift in exchange rate could affect the above up until time of payment.

-This is not a door to door service.

-Customs and / or quarantine clearance is required by yourself.

-US based freight companies usually charge their own Document and clearing costs. The document costs incurred last time I bought some into the USA were approximately $170 for a set of 5 tires. This can be used as an estimate only.

Prices are based on a purchase of 5 tires. Freight may vary if less are purchased.

Freight from Australia to most major mainland US Cities is $350. This can be confirmed at time of shipment.

Freight cost is estimated without insurance and tires are shipped at purchasers own risk unless you request insurance which is approximately an additional $145 - $200.

Shipping time is usually 6 - 7 weeks.

Tires are sold out of Australia and are for agricultural use only. No DMT approval for onroad use is currently in place

So in summary.....
36 x 12.5 x 16" 315/80 - 16 Extreme Trekker 2       $338 x 5 =  1690
 Freight                                                                       +   350
Insurance                                                                    +   200
                                                                                ________
                                                                                   $2240 USD

Looks like a big NO until I hit the Powerball or inherit a lot of monies.  So back to the creepy crawlers....anyone?

all of the maxxxis tires that i have seen (only 2 pair w/beadlocks) looked to me as if they had a really rounded profile, even aired down low(not sure what psi) compared to a swampers or bfg/mtrs. the durometer of the tire seemed soft and well, soft, and  i really like the tread patter (treapadors look sick with those side knobs) . I know that there are a lot of maxxxis dealers here in TX so i will see what a dealer has to say 2morrow. dont know who all was there, but these tires where on a couple of jeeps at the TX event-
