hysteer lift requirements
« on: May 12, 2006, 11:05:50 PM »
Hi guys. I have been told that the minimum amount of lift need to fit a hy steer kit is 3" but does anyone know what the maximum this kit can go to?  I have 10" of spring lift and I need to know if the hysteer can cope with this

thanks simon

depends on how thick yourspring packs are,     4x4labs.com  makes custom steering arms and the tierod is behind the axle

with marlins you might need a spacer if your springs are really thick

Uh...mine are 42mm thick. Six leaves 7mm each...so that's 1.653 543 307 inches.

I'll work on it!

Do you by any chance have a closer shot at the front end? Maybe the driver's side.

I see the problem...your steering box is on the wrong side! How do you get that to work? I don't really see why you'd have any problems getting a kit to work.

Well...if you want to be sure, drop them an e-mail and ask them. $220 is a lot to gamble, I still don't see a problem.

your  right $220 is not a lot to gamble  but when the kit costs  $499 plus $220 for shipping  then thats a tad different. I am waiting for Sky to email me back to make certain exactly what is in the kit so there is no chance of buggering it up

From the last picture it looks like the tie rod will go through the middle of the spring pack.

The marlin arms are 1 3/4" high from the base to where the rod end goes.

You could use a straight edge at the base of your arms and measure up to where you would need the tie rod to be and see how much room you don't have.

if you want something that is taylored to your right hand drive I would go with 4x4 labs...Luke makes lots for right hand drive vehicles and a good buddy has it on his rhd hj-61. it works increadable, there is nothing hanging in front of the axle and it uses chebby 1 ton tie rod ends with dom links...

I have both 4x4 labs for my cruiser and marlin steering for my minitruck... both are an excellent product
