maxed out 14" shocks

I'm think about doing a coil over conversion to front end of my 85 Runner and I'm debating if I should go with 14" or 16".  Currently I'm running Allpro 5" springs a 1' drop down swivel bracket in front and shackles 2.5" longer than stock. I've not been able to take a tape measure to my shocks when under full droop but I think that I'm maxing them out.  Is there anyone here that has either Allpro or Marlin front springs that can say they are maxing out their 14" shocks.  Mine are set up to have 1/2" of shaft showing under compression. Just trying to justify 16" coilovers.
