You should have no trouble hooking up to your trucks brake system.  The first thing you need to find out is if your truck has a factory tow package installed.

IF it does, chances are the wiring is already in place.  If not, any trailer or RV shop should be able to set you up for like $50.

Alternatively, you can read a very informative thread over on pirate4x4:

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=88609

If your truck has the tow package, all you need is a $15 pigtail that you might even be able to get at NAPA, and a fuse or a relay or two.  If it has no factory installed package, follow the instructions in the pirate link...

Ryan

I'd bet you that even if the truck doesn't have the tow package from the factory...the majority of the wiring is still there, they just didn't put the ends on.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first.

I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.

It looked like this when I got it, nothing fancy. All the pics can be seen here
If they don't show up

I swapped over to LED's, fixed the one bad board and put new tires on it. It was very functional and towed great. I have a 4x4 2500 dodge to tow it with so I had to have a pretty big drop hitch to pull it and I also wanted a box to put my junk in. To fix this problem I doubled up the tongue and made a lockable box out of it. I also made it a 2 5/16 ball and put a removable jack on it. Now it looks like this.

Now that I have it just like I want it I'm going to sell it and build a bigger one.

That tool box idea is awesome.  Hope you don't mind because I am gonnna steal it.  I also put a 2" reciever on the front where you have your light wire comming out to use the reciever mount winch I have.  For anyone wanting quick disconects for the power supply, don't buy it from warn for $100, go to your local forklift place and ask them for electric forklift plugs, they are the same size, work great and only cost like $10 plus some wire. All told I am in about $25 bucks.

It's BigMike's fault, he did an upgrade and the images are having issues. We had the same problem on our bb during Migration, they figured it out this week and all of our files and images have returned. They are not gone, the links are not working. I don't know what the fix was.
