I had a buddy coming from Oakdale with a trailer.  Except the trailer was on its' way back from Ceres. :hammerhead:  dude I was HUNGRY as i hadn't eaten all day. that sierra nevada was great. shitty thing: there is a taqueria on the corner of McKinley and Yosemite...it was closed.

and its my DD...it hasn't seen a ton of miles, and I don't beat on my junk.

My dad is in Ceres.... puttin an addition on my uncles place.

a man and his beer... nothing can stop that attraction lol

I don't know. I don't know if the nut came loose and that caused it or if the stud simply sheared. the studs come pre-installed.  I have some things to do here before i can call them.

I just got off the phone with them.  The tech said that he has NEVER had an issue with one of these. I am the first one that they know of.  I have been given an RMA number to send the gear back and determine what the cause of failure was.

What is the purpose of drilling the pins out? I have never seen it done before. Also, what ever happened with the timing gear situation?

It allows you to collapse and extend the rod...I will be going crossover steering when I yank the engine out, so I was gonna have to do it anyway.

The timing gear is still sitting on the workbench. I don't have the money to ship it back to them.

I think I did too much...my back is killing me.

Holy cow, I saw your avatar and couldn't believe it. I remember reading this thread when it was first started two years ago. I don't even think I was a member back then. Sorry for the randomness of this post, but it just surprised me that I remembered this. It has come quite a long ways since that first read two years ago! Oh, BTW, any updates on anything? :gap:

:talkingn: thanks man.  Only update is my back doesn't hurt as much. I REALLY need to get my spare engine out of storage and get it torn down, but it's kinda tough as my only transportation is a damn Mongoose.

Here are some pics, lest you not believe I did anything.

This is the original engine from my truck, not the one that lost the timing gear.
