4 Runner Rear Window Trouble
« on: Mar 06, 2006, 09:57:15 PM »
I had trouble with my rear window recently. I wouldn't go down. :(  I searched and found this thread in the "general" section that was very helpful. http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=4218.msg228617#msg228617 l thought I would link it here for easier reference. ;)

It might be the relay behind the drivers side in the side wall. I had to change mine once and it worked fine after that.

Take the rear door panel off and look at the power wires.Mine must have gotten loose and were cut by my regulator assy.I resoldered them back together and shrank wrap them.My 2 cents

Here is a great check list from the thread I linked  :clap2: :

There are a few switches that have to work to get the tailgate down.
1.Tailgate latch switch
2.Windshield Wiper Retraction switch
3.Roof installation switch
4.Key switch on tailgate
5.Window Lock switch on center console
6.window switch on center console
7.rear windshield washer switch (my tailgate wouldn't work, i tried EVERYTHING through schematics and everything, and because i removed my wiper i couldn't tell that it was on.... my gate didn't work cause this bloody switch was on!!!

Those are all the switches in the rear windows circuit 1-3 and 5 and 7 must be working for the tailgate window to work...
