Topic: how do i take the shifter out of the base

i need to know how to tyake the shifter out of the base to replace the seat and socket can anybody tell me the trick to thios

remove the boot and using needle nose pliers or the like, push down on the retainer at the shifter base and turn shifter 1/4 turn counter clockwise.

Like Kyota said. Push down really hard and turn.
