Long Travel Shocks

Yeah Yeah I know theres a lot of post's about shocks trust me I researched em but Im still in the blue....ok heres the deal Im getting my springs put on in a week or 2 so I just wanted some info 

Im getting 5" springs that seem to be very flexy....just as or more than marlin's so I was thinking on some super sweet shocks to go with my super sweet flex....the terrains that I will go through are; mud/ dirt trails with ruts, and rocks (I live in TX) so I want a shock that does well in all these terrains...I was thinking on the Bils 7100's they seem to hurt the bank so are they worth it...or what other shocks offer the same quality/performance Thnx guys

I would say the for a good, long travel shock be ready to pay around $200.

1st Pic:    16" travel Racerunner gas shocks
They come with a threaded body so you can upgrade to a coil over in the future.
Prices start at $200ea.

2nd Pic:  If you really want to go super adjustable you can throw down $1050 for one of these
Triple by pass Emulsion shock.

I am only choosing Racerunner because all the lifted trucks around here run Bil's, Fox, and King.
I figured i would be a little different with Racerunner shiat.

My ProCraps have 14" of travel and were only $100 for all 4 with a steering stabilizer, I think they ride great.
If you want the bling though, go with the 7100's.

Rancho 9000 is a good shock also.  I think they are about $80 a piece.  They are adjustable too

I'm runnin' Pro-copms too, well 3 right now, lost one last weekend in Las Cruces, they are nice.

14" pro comps here with 5" marlins and they are cheap.

I know Pro-craps are a decent schok for the bang....but I do want something nice...Im the type of guy that likes a nice soft ride...I hate all the jumpy crap....so i want something that will perform very good off-road...Im thinking of the 7100's....Ill proly go with pro-craps for now but just cause I cant dish out 700 bux for 4 shocks

A lot of guys are switching from ranchos and bils and running these.  They are specifically valved for crawling and come in either leaf or coil valved depending on your application.  I am not trying to convince you, just trying to save you some $$ as I think the BBCS's will perform just as good if not better than bils' 7100's since they are valved specifically for your application.  I have never run 7100's, so I can't say from personal experience, but the info is out there, they are damn good shocks for the $$.  I run 15" BBCS's in the rear, will be adding 13" in front this weekend.

BBCS or bilstein 5100's are the way to go.

i have bilstein's and love them, and have seen and know people with the BBCS, and they are great shocks.

Hey Swamper:

    Pro-craps are just that crap. They aren't charged. Same with the ranchero's. which means they have no rebound. deustech are just like these two and they suck A$$. Stay with the bils, sway-aways or the edelbrocks, or at least something that is charged. I've got bils 5100 and they are really good sometimes I wish I had just gotten the 7100's. You should look into the Kings.

I'm comforted to know that I am not the only one to lose a shock at the trails.  but was yours never even installed?
(was putting shocks on at the trailhead b/c of a last minute wrenchfest and forgot to tighten one of em.)

LOL... It was on , just not mounted in the right spot so it was hitting the side of the rear spring plate during travel!!! It too was a last minute thing, I put them on the morning we left for Las Cruces. Also lost a rear drive shaft and main leaf that day!!
