4runner trail rig gets locked up by marlin
« on: Feb 11, 2006, 04:53:26 PM »
I came home from work pretty motivated yesterday,so I decided to install my third I bought from Marlin last month. 4.88s turning little 31s feel great. Im also liking the detroit in the rear, its not that bad on the road like I thought. I have 2wd now until I get a chance to throw in the front diff to match the rear. Im putting in a IFS with 4.88s and a true trac=hey i live in jersey,no rocks out here. Im going to get some experience tonight driving my truck with the new detroit in the blizzard were getting up here. Needless to say im taking it easy on the skinny pedal tonight, lol. Any of you guys have any ideas for a IFS lift? Im keeping my IFS for the street,my truck only sees trails a few times in the summer anyway. Im thinking 2 inch downey lift=cheap and I get the ass end off the ground. Later guys.    Mike :turtle:

Just wait until you get on the gas around a corner in the rain with that locker and it pops open then closed, then you'll understand. :yesnod:

Yep,I know what ya mean already. I guess the trick is no gas or very light gas around the corners. Didnt some of the old muscle cars come with these factory?

Not factory but as an add-on, made for a wild ride if you just stomped on the skinney.

Driving the locker in the snow takes some skill, especially if only in 2wd,lol. Hopefully when I put in the front diff with the truetrac itll even out. i must say, this past snow storm dumped 20 inches of snow here and I didnt get stuck even in 2wd. Detroit locker=money well spent. :turtle:  :turtle:
