Short video
« on: Jan 30, 2006, 04:14:22 PM »
THis is a 1 minute clip of my dad's and my modded emaxx's.  We are both getting custom 4 link's and ditching the Indy suspension.  THere is a sweet recovery at the end of this clip.

Looks like you could use some low gears and Hi Torque motors.  I could never think of doing that with my t-maxx's.

I am running a 72 tooth spur and a 10 tooth pinion, and a 55 turn lathe motor.  It has plenty of torque it is just me trying to get better with controling the throttle.  It will actually crawl really slow.

I can't get the vid working but, are you still running twin packs? The truck should easily do walking pace if you mod the EVX to run one pack.

no single battery, it gets to a brisk walking speed enought to spin the wheels to get up any steep ledges.  The video got pulled since no one downloaded it after 15 days.  I need to make a new one with the new 4-link suspension.  It does 100x better on the rocks.

I have to find a better place to host the videos at, zshare deletes the file if it hasnt been view in 15 days.  Dean, I will be in reedley all weekend, so if you want to go out there lets do it on saturday.  I will bring the camera.   Did you get new servo?  My dad has to go tonight and pick one up for his.

Mike if  you DON'T beat my rig I would be really surprised.   They are two completely different trucks. If you want to really test your skills build a shafty...Dean   PS still thinking about building a Stick chassis.

I thought these seemed sufficient for mine.  :qtip: They're 1 cm rod ends. What are you guys using?

That guy on the left is mighty beefy! mmmmm :yumyum:

I am just using the Traxxas ends that you have on the right, drilled out to 6/32 on one piece solid aluminum rods built in the lathe. For what I am going to be doing, I really don't think I'll be breaking them.

I could have got the 380 torque servos for like $6 more, but I just went with the 200 torque ones because I didn't want to be breaking parts.

Dean, I heard you are running the 450 in-oz torque servors that are standard size and cost $115 EACH!! :thud:

That's damn sexy but far to rich for my blood :bolt:

Yea,  if they're the robot servos , you have to buy a programmer to set the E.P.A.'s (end-point adjustments) on the servo swing and some other settings . It costs like $150 for the programmer! :bling:

The bigger the rig the bigger the rocks!! I really digging the scale 2.2 trucks. If were going to have a all out comp we should go that way. It would really test building and driving skills.
