Trailflex Shock Mount

I'm putting a trailflex kit on my '83 and wondering where I should put my shock mounts. The stock top ones are on a crossmember on my style but the later Yoters are on the frame. Should I weld up some mounts on the side of my frame to use in conjunction with the kits lower mounts? If so at what degree of an angle and should I offset them forward and back? Open to suggestions cause I want the most travel out of em and can fabricate whatever.

What did you use forn the bottom mounts? I imagine you cant use the ones from the kit right? Did you cut off the old mount off the top and re weld it closer in???

Right. We didn't use the ones from the kit. Zukizzy had them lying around in the shop.

i was told to mount them as straight up as i can and still get full travel outta them,just what i was told,ill find out real soon as im getting ready to put all my susp i got on my 85

Straight up and down will give you a better ride because it cushions it more.  but then you will need to run a longer shock to get the flex.  mounting them at an angle will give you better flex because more downtravel and it will only hurt the ride a little.  I don't really notice it though.

I know that Sky makes a kit for that kind of mount, I think its like $60 and comes with the top bar you see there, the lower mounts and hradware.

Screw it i'll just fabricate it all. I should have enough steel to do it.
