Those are some gnarly trails, DTB & Toyminator.  I don't think my trucks paint would've liked those trails much.   You're getting duals DTB?? Sweet.

Inittowinit, do you still want to do a DVD with music that I have permission to use and sell?  I can create everything all I need is the master DVD to burn more copies off of.  I can send you the music files that I have permission to use also.  Ill Valley, NIL8, Morbid Angel, Genitorturers, L7, and Donita Sparks are all on board.
Always short on turtle points.

Unbolt the transfercase from the tranny and drop them seperately. The transfercase only weighs like 60lbs.

I just had my tranny propped up, and used the floor jack to hold the transfercase up (while I balanced it) and set it down.

Don't you have any neighborhood kids willing to make $10?

tcase weighs  more like 80 pounds

Collier,  dont try it by yourself,   you need  to get James or Ezra  also,  you can  open the doors  , put a  ratchet strap  thru the cab,  and back under the tranny,  this will keep it from hitting you in the head

also a  atv or motorcycle jack  works well also

Collier, you can use a ratchet strap around the tranny while you unbolt the t-case.

I used a cherry picker / engine hoist through the shifter hole to lower it all down at the same time.  I think I would go with the piece by piece method, though, and remove the t-case first.

When putting your duals in, I'd use a cherry picker, as you can't really separate as well the combo.

Glad to hear you're making some progress

do it separatly DTB... im 5'8" and 120lbs... you can get the Tcase by yourself... and then lower the tranny with the jack.... you can have that done in 30min.

Just do it like I do... get on the creeper lay a sheet of narrow plywood on your chest , roll under it with knees under the transfer case and arms under the bell housing, push up and rearward and slow lower it on to your chest... then simply slide it down the ply wood to the floor  between your legs.. works in a pinch...

oh one more thing do not ever try this with an SM465 and a NP205 :disturbed:

Let the air out of your tires. :gap:

I use the ratchet strap method, one on the front one on the tcase and a floor jack in th middle.

when i was 17  i had a 3/4 ton 1980 chevy,  and did just what you said,   only without the plywood, rolled under on the creeper,   held it up  brother  pulled the crossmember out,  i pushed up and back  , let it down on my chest  and rolled out  with it  all  laying on my chest and stomach,   but  when i rolled it off me,  the  tranny pinned my right hand,  still  got a nice scar over that knuckle

but then  maybe thats why im like i am now  :nerv:
