FJ60 parts
« on: Jan 08, 2006, 08:52:09 AM »
Hey guys. I have searched my butt of both here and at pirate, but to no avail. There are 2 FJ60's at my local pick n pull, and I had a few questions. If I remember right, one is an 85, the other is an 84. I was going to head down there and pull some parts, and I was wondering what I should be pulling. I know that the master cylender is a good idea, but will this year truck work? Also, the third members. Are they worth yanking, and will they fit into my truck? I have read all of this about FJ80 hi pinion diffs, and I didnt know if this fits the bill. They are both the big wagon style trucks, but I havent got a great look at em. I know that they are both inline 6's, carburated. I didnt knwo if anything else would be worth it. Thanks for the responses.

Thanks Glen. Yeah, now that I think about it, they could be 60's. They look like wagoneers(sorry for the jeep reference, they are clearly superior to wagoneers), but Toyota. This place took two of em in, one of which was on 33's. Is there anything useful on these trucks?

I honestly think that my mom would kill me if I put one mire truck in her back yard. She's all ready nervous about project uber runner, the combining of my two 4runners in her garage. Last thing I need is ANOTHER truck kicking around. I'm afraid to become THAT GUY with all the junk cars kicking around his yard that "he'll get around to fixing one day". If you feel like driving to MA, theres two of em next to eachother in the pick n pull. Kinda far though.  :gap:

The mini truck axles are stronger, steer clear of the pre fj80 axles.  Look at the side of the mc to find the size, it'll be stamped in one side or the other.  A  lot of mcs share the same bolt pattern, so it's hard to say whether or not it will work, but glen is running a celica mc and I'm prepping a supra mc so......if anything I'd be scouring the yard for 86.5 and newer supras for the limited slips.
