ok...i plan on running chevies using skys kit (marlin makes a kit?) and rears up front. my wheels are 33x12.5 on 15x10 rims. my problem is that i see that some people get like 6 inches off chevies and rears up front. i only want 3 to 4 max. can you kind folks that are using this setup post pictures and explain what you did to get the certain amount of lift that you got.....also, how would 4" marlin springs all around look with 33's? too high?

i want to run the chevies and rears up front so i can spend money on marlins high steer...

thanks in advance

4" lift will be fine with 33s

My buddy has marlin 4"  SAS on his 90 and 4 inch pro-comp in the rear and 34"s. It sits about 3" higher in the front with about 5,000 miles on the springs.

some rears up front  are fine,  just add a couple leaves from the front pack to give you some more lift,  then put the chevies in the back,  just mount your front hanger as close to the frame as you can and about a 6 inch total length shackle,  then adjust as needed

i have chevies and rears up front, it rides like a really tall caddy and handles corners well. the tires are 37x13.5x17, ive driven a marlin equiped truck and it was a little stiffer than mine, but they where bran new, so they could be softer later

rockhound

I neede to swap out my front shackles for bananas because the rears are longer. Also added leaves form Downey andanother stock pack.

I run 63" chevies in the rear, but I have 2.5" blocks and longer shackels. For the front I have Rancho 44044's they work well with the chevies and the come with 6 leafs so you can always take a few out.

Here's how mine sits with 63" chevy's with a 8" shackle and 5" sky-jacker soft rides in the front.

It's not too increadibly tall maybe 4" of lift.

I have a 1" body-lift as well.

rockhound - what size tires are you running? rears up front, did you use drop hanger? if not, the pinion and caster give you any problems? how about a calm side shot?

shad - if your running 33s, i want my lift exactly that high minus the body lift.

bigbluewillys - the rears up front gave you 5 inches? y did you decide to run the drop hanger? can rears up front be run without it and not cause problems?

thanks all with the help and pictures!
everyone in my area that has a toyota either has a prerunner or newer 4runner...no solid axles in the area to get help or to just compare.

I got about 5-6 inches out of my rears up front, but i run a 2inch add a leaf as well as 2 inch drop hanger.  The reason I did the drop hanger was so i wouldn't have a bad angle for the front drive shaft. The tires are only 32s so it might get you some what of an idea.

I ran a 2" drop hanger to give some more lift and let me run a flatter spring.  I also run a 2" lift shackle.  What I did wrong on this truck though is run the hanger another 1" foward which pulled my shackle farther foward which pointed my pinion down and screwed up my caster so I now have some wobble issues.  I had the exact same setup in my other truck but with the hanger not relocated forward and it drove great.  I am going to put in a 3 degree shim to adjust my caster if a steering stabilizer doesn't fix it.  Oh yeah at the time those pics were taken I was running 5 rear leafs for the 4" lift, I now run 7 and have 6" of lift because I wanted it a bit firmer

FRENCHBLUE72

I am running a procomp lift spring up front with cruiser leafs to make it sit where I want it.. In the back I have the chevy as a main leaf with more cruiser leafs mixed in... Ill get some drive way shots monday am...

I've got a used and abused chevy pack, so it doesn't sit so high. Only gained about 2" of lift from stock.  :heavy:

Hyena

I only gained about 2 inches of lift over stock with my chevy's too.

toybuilt

My pack wasn't used off road till I got a hold of them. When I first put then on with no blocks a got around 3" of lift
