Is this 85 worth 1,800 bucks?
« on: Dec 31, 2005, 01:22:39 AM »
Just located another truck locally. He wants 1,800 for it. It has 210k on the clock and a fresh tune up and whatnot. He says it runs like a top and shifts like butter and the clutch feels real nice. He also said the brakes still have a ton of life, as does the clutch. Has a dent in the roof, looks like a brach fell on it, that happens a lot around here. It also has a dent in the passenger side where it looks like it either scraped on something or got hit by something (another car).

The 80's gone, it has already been snapped up and I have a DD, I was thinking of building this one up as money allows (tight budget after purchase)

Why was my thread moved, is this not project research? :dunno:

The last truck I bought was a 94,it looked about the same, maybe a few more dent's.It had 145,000 on it,I gave $1200 for it.I wouldn't go more than 1400 on this one.And I would check it out before any cash was exchanged,Look at the brakes yourself, don't take his word for it.Take it to a local garage, have them put it on a lift and look it over real good.If your really interested in it,it's worth what ever they'll charge to look at it.Have them check the tierods, bearings, brakes, and look real good at the frame.

It helps my neighbor owns the local shop and will do buyers inspections for 40 bucks for me. He usually charges around 100 for that service.

either way its a good fined $1500 sounds like a good price for it, but if need be $1800 doesn't seem to bad at least for one around here.
