Anyone tried this Coolant Temp Sensor mod???

I found this mod on the net and was wondering if anyone here has tried it?
Did you have any problems?

In short it tricks the computer into thinking that the engine is colder than it really is so it adds more fuel.

i didn't read the link but if it is putting a rheostat inline with the temp sensor wire, I have done it and it works, it will allow you to adjust the mixture rick enough to kill the engine if you want, the disadvantage is that the system will remain in open loop if the rheostat is adjusted anywhere from a 0 resistance value.

I assume that might work on any computer controlled system that takes readings from a coolant temp sensor?( i.e. 4.3 TBI Chevy)

If it stays in open loop, it sounds like it would really kill the gas milage.

It might be a nice option if it only kicked in at wot.
