Well my rear inner or outer or both bearings have been going out for a while now. I began a long trip from minnesota to n.c. yeaterday. The noise coming from the rear has gotten much worse. I drove 15 hours with it like this. How long will these bearings last? What could possibly happen if I drive another 7 hours home? Does anyone have a good rear third between nashville and asheville n.c. that could help me get it in. thanks
are you talking about the pinion bearings ??
set your brake, or park against something and leave it in neutral, and see how much slack is in the rear pinion,
you could remove your rear drive shaft and get home on frontwheel drive
