yeah, you see alot of toyota Hilux's in australia, it has to be imported if you want one in the US

   Yeah, diesel is good.  You can get one from Japan too.  The good news, they are straight axle.

We actually had some of those in the us as us models from 81-83.  So how do I actually respond to that ad?  I found one not too far from me on craiglist for cheap but couldn't send a message.

I asked my insurance company (farmers), and they said, they will not insure a vehicle that was imported, it has to be made for the US only.

   that's why you buy a half-cut and convert your own truck over.

   never thought of that,,,,maybe I would check around, there is some hotrod insurance companies, why wouldnt they cover an import, its a specialty vehicle.....
