I'm replacing the worn out G-58 tranny/t-case in my 93 4cyl 4RunNer, with a W-56D tranny/and matching t-case,, I see that most all sites selling clutches use 7/92 as a cutoff date for clutchs in 4Runners??

is the difference the diameter only ?

is there any other differences, I should know about??,, I will probably just measure the dia. of the existing G-58 clutch, I'm keeping the original 93 22re flywheel  ;)

The late model clutches are the same as the V6 disc if memory serves.  Either way you'll be able to toss in a clutch that is meant for the origional aplication as the input splines are all the same. ;)
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

yep, the '92 and later clutch has a bigger diameter, and i *think* the flywheel has a bigger surface to allow that.  not sure though...can anybody confirm if the flywheel is different?

i'd love to put a bigger clutch in my '91, i think it might be wearing out.  it's probably original, and it slips a bit if i shift and gas it hard.
