NEW FORUM AND UPDATES TO IT - Please Read

Hello Everyone -

I know what you might be thinking, that the board is a way wacked and all those neat smilies are gone -- but dont cry, I am working as fast as I can to get it all up and going.

Friday we are closed, so I will work all day friday trying to get new features and the colors back up and going so just sit tight and enjoy the show  :-*

I feel its reallllllllly rusty. I need to get our old smilies back, and Its going to be hell to try to restore all of our attachments, but I will see what I can do about it.

I already have a new color scheme and look for it but its going to be a couple of days until it starts to look better.

Also, that huge patch I installed has a couple features that Im not to keen on so I will be chaning a couple of things and rearranging some boards and creating a Forum Suggestion place where you guys can post things that you think should be changed.

Look for Friday to be a huge day of change. I should be at home all day and I want to work on it as much as I can.

I've been trying the same thing with the ih8mud.com forum for the past week, with no success yet....bah!!

Hey woody, it was really simple.

I installed a bare bones SE board, then uploaded our entire -OLD- Gold SP1.2 board into a different directory. Then I used a converter that I found on yabbse.org and it worked well. The only errors were 4 posts were not found and it had trouble copying the template, so none of our colors were carried over, but thats ok because I am going to redue it anyways-

Let me know how it goes - this is many many many times faster on my stone age dialup computers-  :goofy:

And You can not select a sound to be played when you have a new Private Message. Its pretty cool and a couple a really funny-
If you want to test it out, just send yourself a PM so that you will have a new unread message, and the sound will play when ever a page is loaded.

 Yea I learned that mods are a PITA.  I started playing with SP1.3.1 and crash it alot.  one of these days I may register on there board for help. But it's alot of fun learning on my own. Reminds me of the first time I took my truck apart.

I have no idea. I just decided to add it. Here's a description:

"Karma is a feature that show the popularity of a member. You can change the number of posts needed to have a "karma", the time between votes, and if admins have to wait aswell."

If its dumb then it'll be gone with a single click..

Good job Mike. The board is looking great. In celebration I gave myself a new name and a sound for new PM's. Very cool... don't know why i picked the name except my wife is expecting a little poophead in march.

BTW:  good luck with the Bold Posts mod creation, that's one I really miss too!!

Hey woody, what Bold Posts mod? I did alot of programing on the older system since it was scripted in perl (very simular to c++ which I know) and I am slowly learning the MySQL language for this system and have started writing my own mods.

Let me know and I can work on something for us.

I am currently working on the "These users have visited the board once today:" mod at the bottom of our old boards. I'll let you know when I get it working.
