Can say I agree, I put about 3.5K into mine and it do run good for a 22R. butt it's still a 4popper!

there is somethin about those 4 poppers though aint there man? i love em. im gonna try and make mine as hot as i can. im rebuilding a virgin 85 block/head, putting 90 efi on it, SDS distributorless programmable efi, ported throttle body/intake, cam, header, k&n, exhaust. and someday, yup a freakin turbo :)

The 38 is manual sec.s and that may not be the thing for towing.

I should add that if I was going to do it again I'd put a 4.3 chev. in and be done for less $$ and would have way more towing power.
A good day working, that's just sick :reg:

i heard the 32/36 actually flows less than the stock 22r carb

Negative capn, a 32/36 flows 1 cfm more than stock.  Stock is 325 cfm, weber is 326.  If you had a stock carb that works well I'd leave it alone, but if you needed to rebuild it that's when I'd start lookin at the weber.  They're dirt simple and easy to rebuild also.

actually i think LC's site said the 22R carb/weber is somewhere like 290CFM.

my reason for putting my weber back on is that my engine is pretty modified and i needed to be able to tune it.  the 22R carb ran much too lean and it'd ping like crazy under full throttle.  no problems like that now that i've upgraded my carburetor and have it properly jetted

Is your motor in you daily driver? You could get a junkyard engine and have it rebuilt. When I did mine I think I had less than $800 in machine work, Bored, balanced, mill work, valve job...pretty much the whole shebang. Then just convert if to EFI? Other than wiring (and getting the parts) there's not much to it. You can get the parts by searching here www.car-part.com or www.flagauto.com (I've used these people before and they're great!).
Check out this link to a post over on ORC, just some pretty basic tuning info...

As already mentioned...gears were probably the single noticeable change and the heavy flywheels are amazing.
