ok i want a tach on my instrument cluster, and i dont want to bold a big one to the top of my dash. so is there a cluster that i could get for my 87 4 cylinder. can you just swap them out, like i know that some vehicles have connects for stuff that other have and others don't so if someone could help me out that would be awsome thanks.

yes you can... you will need an sr5 cluster from a 4cyl
the hookups are there, but you will need to run your own tach wire to the tach, it isnt hard, there is actually i diagnostic test port for this on the igniter....

since the sr5 and regular trucks used different oil sensors, you will also need one of those... in the std truck it uses an oil sensor for an idiot light... in the sr5 it uses an actual sensor to run a oil pressure gauge.....

like jimabena said....

its cake dude get an sr5 cluster. run a wire for your tach to the unused (often capped off) green plastic connector at the coil. a male spade fits in there nice.

also u gotta change your oil sending unit. the warning light one will f*** your new oil guage, be sure to get a sending unit made for a guage, not an idiot light.

good luck
