long travel shocks - what are the options?
« on: Oct 27, 2005, 08:54:03 AM »
I'll be replacing 5012 shocks which are like 13.5" or something like that.

Are the bilstein 14" the longest or the BBC's or ? Both of those are a gas shock right?

thx

Pig's site seems to be down..  that sucks... www.POLYPERFORMANCE.com

THE LOW DOWN-
-A total of 15"s of shock travel.
-High pressure Nitrogen charged mono-tube (with internal floating piston (IFP)) construction that dissipates heat more effectively for increased seal life and durability.
-Degressive piston (both comp & reb sides), valved specifically for rockcrawling.
-Durable powdercoated finish for the best corrosion resistance.
-Nitro Steel shock shafts won’t chip or flake like chrome.
-Polyurethane bushings.
-Polyurethane bottomout bumper with Aumnium bumpcap.
-Welds done with robotic projection welder for accuracy and consistent quality.
-Tube ends are rolled closed for leak-free construction… other brands have tubes that are welded closed.
-Large, 46mm piston for more consistent damping.
-Viton seal and low friction piston rod bearing for long life and no leaks.

Per bilsteins site: http://www.bilstein.com/offroad.php#6100  looks like they have max 14"  (from what i looked at)

HEY!!  I know Procomp has 16" shocks!     :yikes:   Get some of those bad boys!!   :rofl2:    :rofl2:

Rancho Have 5034 and 5036.  The 5034 is about 2 inches longer then the 5012.  The 5036 is longer then the 5012 but i don't know how much.
