I have posted this link before, but maybe it will help you out. If you go down to the bottom set of boxes, you can enter the size of your tires and different gear ratios. The calculator will then figure out what engine RPM you will be running at the speed you select.

stock motor? I ran 5.29's and 37's and I could have gone lower with the stock setup, with my 5.0 the 4.10's were plenty low..

so.. depends on your power ;)

I have 4.88s in my 83 with 33s. would not want to be any bigger with those gears.
A good day working, that's just sick :reg:

He said 60's so i'm assuming Dana 60, obviously he cant get 5.29's or 4.88's on a Dana axle.

My buddy has 60's on his 4Runner and he's running 39.5 Iroks as a DD, he put 5.38's in them and loves it.

actually he can get 4.88's on a dana axle (I got em).

5.29 and 5.38 are close enough for off road use..
