Eldorado NF - Route Designation Scoping Letter and Project Update Vol. 1, Issue 4
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
October 25, 2005
Dear Interested Citizen:
The Forest Service is proposing to designate certain roads and trails open
to public off-highway wheeled motor vehicle use, and to assign the type of
use(s) and season of use allowed. Those roads or trails not selected for
designation for public off highway wheeled motor vehicle use will be closed
to public wheeled motor vehicles year round.
The attached newsletter provides a more specific description of the Purpose
and Need and Proposed Action. If you have any questions about this
proposal, or would like more information, please contact Anthony Scardina
at (530) 621-5276.
At this time a decision has not been made regarding this project. If you
have any information you feel the Forest Service may not be aware of, or
if you feel you have issues (points of discussion, dispute or debate)
regarding potential effects of the Proposed Action, please send them in
writing to Anthony Scardina, Route Designation Interdisciplinary Team
Leader, at the Eldorado National Forest Supervisor’s Office, 100 Forni
Road, Placerville, CA 95667, or by email at ascardina@fs.fed.us. We will
use any significant issues that are identified to develop alternatives to
the Proposed Action.
Sincerely,
JOHN D. BERRY
Forest Supervisor
