Im pretty confused with some thing on dual cases so i was wondering if you all could help me, if i were to get duals for my 85 what all would i need to buy? would i have to legthen my front driveshaft? could i still be able to use what is now 4 high? and which case would i put the 4.7s in?

Yes you could still use 4High, you would put the 4.7's in the rear case because that way you are puting high torque on less parts. To do the duals you need an adapter and another case for a donor, also a x-member/skidplate built for dual cases. Front driveshaft will need to be lengthened. The rear will need to be shortened as well. Best bet to do is to get rid of that center bearing and just use a one piece rear driveshaft. But I am not sure if your runner has this or it comes already as a one piece. :dunno: glad to school ya...keep asking questions.

your rear case can be upgraded to 23 spline but im pretty sure that the front has to stay the same cause it needs to match up to your tranny which unless you have a turbo motor is 21 spline.

You might also concider doing a cardigan joint as well since you will likely have vibes from a short rear Driveshaft.

If you want to save money you can skip on buyin the crossmember and just cut a big notch in your stock one and plate it.  I did this on one and it worked fine.
