Poor gas mileage

ok i just recently put new yota plug wires on ngk spark plugs yota cap and rotor and im still getting 9mpg with my 91 pickup 22re.
i dunno what else to do. oh i also recharged my k&n too. what do you guys think i should try?

Crank the timing ahead till it pings and back it off a bit, check the converter to see if its plugged as that will kill your mileage.

Does it run good and strong or is it sluggish?

its runs good and strong im gonna check the timing tho and go from there

do you have any fuel leaks?

ill check that too but im pretty sure i dont because i dont smell gas by it
