And I don't know all the logistics and I forget what it is called, and correct me if I am wrong but I am sure I have heard that it can appear as one big server when it is actually people allowing to share space on their own computers for the use of one website, thereby increasing the amount of storage space (and bandwidth :dunno: ) without having to increase the money spent on the upkeep of their own hardware.

I think they are called "Clusters"
They are often used for super computers to hold more data and process or compute information faster.
Kinda works like a hive mind.

I wouldn't call it a "hack" since I didn't need a user name or password.
Just did a search for "Brittany" and about 1000 pictures of brittanys came up.
Keep everything on CD, never trust a network, don't even trust your hard drive when you are connected on line.
Just a tip.

All you need is an address, no hacking required, I'd take this more as a lesson on internet safety. I'd ask the owners of the site if it is a secure site, I bet it isn't. Sure you need a password to access your personal area but that doesn't mean someone can't have access to the info contained within your personal area. All that is needed to start looking around is a hint of the addresses that may be inside that area. To put it simply since you were able to post the link here and have the images appear..... the site is not secure.

It is my understanding that if it is a secure site you should see that little lock at the bottom of the webpage. IE:

It is my understanding that if it is a secure site you should see that little lock at the bottom of the webpage. IE:

https stand for hyper text transfer protocol secur
but that doesn't mean that a http site can't be secure, the only thing that the https make is encrypt everything that is transmitted between servre and workstation.
http doesn't do this, this means that I could use a sniffer on a server and retreive username and password in their uncrypted form.
But again to put a sniffer on a server or a personnal computer, I would have to know its login password.
So really the little lock on the bottom doesn't mean that much.

But don't put any personnal info (adress, creditcard num, ...) on a site that doesn't have it.

It is my understanding that if it is a secure site you should see that little lock at the bottom of the webpage. IE:

That's what it's supposed to mean but even a secure site ain't so secure nomore. Spyware is a bad thing and it gets you before it to the secure site. In other-words, it's in your computer monitoring every keystroke you make there are even some that do screen captures so they see everything that is typed every time you hit enter. There are some that lie dormant until you enter a secure site like YOUR ONLINE BANKING once you enter the site it triggers the spyware and it just starts take an image the second you click on anything that may give info like your password and such.

Well MrsWillyMammoth since you helped me out with the term 'Troll' allow me to reciprocate.   :crazyjumpy:

I think the term you are looking for is peer-to-peer (P2P). ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peer-to-peer )

Although a cluster ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluster_computing ) may seem similar to a P2P, in that the processing and storage capacities are splitt between multiple computers, there are very big differences, like a cluster is usually contained within a LAN.  Sorry guys I've probably boored you enough.

Geeks are cool  they know all the cool tricks.

Yes, P2P, I think that that was it, you can link multiple computers together making it seem like it is one big outfit when it's just a buncha GEEKS putting their heads together and collecting peoples private photo's for their own personal pleasure, and perhaps even, gain.  :ninja:
