This is a one of a kind Land Rover with GM inline six cylinder engine and wide ratio GM 5-speed transmission.  Engine is a 292 ci carbureted inline six cylinder from a 1975 GM pickup.  Transmission is an NV4500 similar to a 1996 GM ¾ ton pickup.  I installed this brand new transmission and a rebuilt transfer case two years ago.  This transmission is a wide ratio transmission offering a 6:1 first gear and a .75:1 fifth gear.  This allows a very low crawl ratio and with the overdrive allows comfortable cruising at 70 MPH while getting 16 miles per gallon.  I have driven this Rover on a daily basis.  I have also rebuilt or replaced many other parts and systems as can bee seen in the list below.  But the highlights include the entire suspension and braking systems and all of the steering joints.  I have used genuine Land Rover replacement parts for most of the stock parts I have replaced.  For non –stock parts I have a design notebook with notes and a spreadsheet that lists part number and where they were purchased.  I also have all of the receipts for the work I have done.  This is a very fun truck to drive around town and it is extremely capable off-road.  Last summer I drove from Mariposa to the Rubicon, drove the Rubicon in one day and drove home.  It does need some body work (mostly Rubicon scars) and paint but mechanically this is a very solid Land Rover.  Here is a list of the parts that have been replaced or rebuilt in the last three years:
