Timing chain woes

So my engin's starting to rattle like an empty can of krylon.  I initially thought it was just the valves, but the more I read, the more I'm convinced I'll need to do the timing chain along with adjusting the valves.  I was looking at the DOA Racing, timing kit, since it has the metal guides.  I checked LC, and they only offer plastic guides.  I also looked at the engnbldr kit, but it's got only one steel guide.

My question is which kit should I go with?

The doa kit is $275 with two steel guides.  I like the guides, but $275 sounds steep.

The LC kit is $169 with two plastic guides.  I trust LC, but plastic guides are the reason I need to do the repair in the first place

The engnbldr kit is $50 with only one steel guide.  I hear good and bad about this guy, but can his kit cost so little, and still be as good?

My other thought was to combine the engnbldr kit with the doa guides for a total of $130.  Please give some feedback on this issue.  I have nightmares about rebuilding the front end 4 or 5 times because of poor quality parts.

Double row conversion is too expensive for me right now.

How 'bout a :turtle: kit?

Thanks for the help...
