Does anyone know if LC sells the same type of standalone wiring system for the 3rz as the 22r. That way couldnt you use that to make an engine swap less complicated and also get rid of allot of the emission crap if you dont need it. There is something about it on LC's site but it doesnt realy go into detail as to what it gets rid of and how its set up. Im gona do this swap very soon I got the motor and all the crap i need from a 2000 tacoma for 400$ from a local junk yard the motor does have 80,000 miles on it but i think it was still worth it. Does big mike have those wiring notes yet?

Volcom

No notes from the BigMike yet.  But he does have a crowd of people waiting in line for them   including me.

$400 for the motor is a great deal.  The best I could find here in CO is $900.  I've gotten a couple of quotes for $1200 for the engine, engine wiring harness, and ECU.  They wouldn't seperate the bellhousing from the tranny though  :shake:

I think even for $1200 plus some extra $ for the little stuff is still worth it.  Anybody else agree??

stinkyfab could make one from your existing harness www.stinkyfab.com, when I get the coin and the parts I'll be going down to see them for my swap.

(760)525-6886 or shoot them an Email I think he actually posts on here but don't know what his name is, I found out about them on here from reading some of the threads he seems like a real good guy, give him a call or email I am sure he would be happy to quote you a price.

I called StinkyFab the other day and got quoted $600 for a basic stand-alone 3RZ harness to just power the engine.  Just an FYI!

I would guess no on the CA smog.  Stand alone means no emissions or check engine light kind of like for a tube buggy or off road only type thing, just runs the fuel and ignition.  $600 ouch! I think a complete swap is going to be out of my price range then, no doubt they do top quality work just out of my reach, you want to play you have to pay!
