2.5 inch backspaced wheels and wheel spacers questions
« on: Sep 26, 2005, 12:53:19 PM »
I scored me a set of used 2.5 inch backspaced steel wheels for $25 a wheel and a 5th wheel that beadlocked for $60 more.  Here's my ?  I've got the 86+ rear axle for the rear and to even it out, I need to run a set of  :turtle:  1.5 inch wheel spacers.  How much of a beating are my front wheel bearings and knuckle bearings going to take with all that wheel and 36-37 inch tire spaced way out?

Width wise, is just having the 2.5 BS wheels on the front enough?  Is there any negatives of running a wider rear track?

Thanks

My rims are only 8 inches wide too.  If you went with 10 inches then it would look much wider.

I have the 2" spacers up front with a 2.5" backspaced wheel with huge tires and I haven't noticed any problems with bearings. You should be fine. I put a little blue loctite on my spacer's lugnuts to make sure things would stay tight.

Yea, they are 10 inches wide, should be perfect for the 36 or 37 inch Iroks
