Trashed input gear and related question
« on: Sep 08, 2005, 05:56:28 PM »
Hey everybody!  I just acquired an 87 toyota with a bad transmission.  I am planning to build it up, and I have a FSM on the way but in the meantime I have 2 questions:

1) WHat is the likely cause of the trashed gear

2) what is the large gear that is bent up in the picture?

Thanks in advance.

yeah, I've rebuilt my mustangs T5 tranny twice after some pretty nasty stuff, and i've never seen a gear like that!  They were driving on an interstate at about 70 miles an hour and then BOOM "a loud noise" and then nothing  :help:
